LMC Election 2018

Liverpool LMC is the statutory body that is recognised by NHS England (Cheshire & Merseyside) as being representative all of GPs in Liverpool. The Committee currently comprises 28 GPs, including sessional (freelance/locum) and salaried GPs.

Following a change to the LMC Constitution a few years previously, the Committee would wish to see an increase in the number of salaried and sessional GPs elected to the Committee. One General Ophthalmic Medical Practitioner is also eligible to be elected to the Committee.

Liverpool LMC has adopted the principle that any GP, regardless of contractual status, is covered by the LMC, provided that they are working in a Liverpool CCG member practice paying the Statutory Levy. Elections to the new Committee will take place during February 2018, and nominations are now being sought for prospective members.

Meetings take place monthly, on the first Tuesday of the month, at the LACE Conference Centre, Croxteth Drive, Liverpool 17, commencing at 1.30 pm and normally last two hours. PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO MAKE THIS COMMITMENT PRIOR TO SUBMITTING A FORM. In addition, members can be elected to represent the Committee on various local matters.

The LMC would seek to elect GMS/PMS Contractors and Salaried/Sessional General Practitioners to 14 four‐year vacancies and 2 two‐year vacancies.
